Dr. S. Lesley Blogg founded SLB Consulting in 2002. The company came about primarily to allow Lesley to continue in her research with a number of regular scientific collaborators based across Europe, on a consultant basis. Lesley specialises in decompression physiology and the consultancy offers services such as project management, Doppler audio bubble monitoring, 2D Ultrasound bubble monitoring, data collection, data processing, manuscript preparation and conference presentation.
While working in Sweden, Lesley was asked to help a number of researchers with their written English, helping check over a broad range of scientific manuscripts and thesis chapters before publication or printing. In this way, the language editing side of the business grew, as recommendations were passed around.
SLB Consulting takes commissions for general and specialised scientific writing, including manuscript preparation and editing. English language editing, for those having to prepare manuscripts or theses in their non-native language, is a specialism.
Lesley has a honours degree in Environmental Science, a PhD in cardiovascular neuroanatomy and over ten years of post-doctoral experience in diving physiology and decompression sickness while working for the likes of DERA/QinetiQ, the Karolinska Institute and others.
